Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Just a mild rant on what I thought was an obvious issue. My main point being lost to some, no use in reiterating. Don, thanks for the offer! I did manage to flip the saddle without incident.
Howdy all! A guitar I’ve known about for a long while finally came up for sale. I’m fairly certain it’s a 1961 with a 4 digit embossed serial number. Original everything that includes case plus candy and the Gibson Invader Amp! The only thing missing, which will be forwarded when found, is...
Perhaps this has been discussed before but when it comes down to it, it's a major reason I was attracted to these instruments. Something about the look, the rippling waves of tiger striping across the hue of changing colors that just resonated in my being. I've heard it said that it's a...
I'd like to give a shout out to the entire staff at Throbak. I ordered a set of pickup covers for a set of vintage PAF's, I recently purchased. Along with getting my new covers in the mail the same day, they had the foresight to send me the "changing covers and magnets" video for reference...
Recently had the opportunity to play a friend's 69 LP GT with PAF's installed, before and after. What I heard kind of ruined me. The PAF's created this "chime" that layed on top of the notes played. Not a huge difference from the previous T-Tops but very noticeable and pleasing to the ear...
I've used Pigtail products in the past with great success. Their ABR-1's are well made but they don't offer an "aged" gold on their website. I want to match the hardware on my 63 ES-345. The current bridge is still functional but the saddles are very loose fitting in the slides.
After 50 years flying around the sun on this rock, I've noticed the slight ringing in my left ear becoming a constant. I've ordered an earplug that claims to have fidelity along with protection called Eargasm. Anyone here familiar with this or similar products?
To me, guitars are an aesthetically beautiful creation. Is anyone else annoyed by guitar players not removing clip on tuners from the headstock during a performance? We all know why its there, convenience and accuracy of tuning. IMO, it distracts from the beauty of the instrument. After all...
I'm trying out the Vintage Inspired pots. What is the common placement for the hottest pot placement? I know to put the 2 highest values as volumes but would the bridge or neck get the largest? Here's what I have 538, 531, 517 and 513. My best guess would be, 538 volume, 517 tone for bridge...
My recent experience with this guitar has given me more reasons for large neck appreciation. Not only is it more comfortable to play and more toneful but the large mass of wood makes the tuning more stable. Pulled it out last night for rehearsal and didn't need tuning!
Gibson Memphis Custom shop is making some very nice examples of vintage instruments. This 2016 58 ES-335 VOS plays, feels and sounds like an old guitar. So far, I'm leaving it exactly like it is and my experience to this point leaves me feeling this will likely be my new number one. My first...
