• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Maybe my favorite Les Paul...

Close friend I that played in pretty much all the bands with had one, loved it, then passed it on for some reason. Too many guitars, maybe.

He talks often about getting it back but he's well-heeled and could easily score another ... yet doesn't.

I don't get that -- he says he won't buy one sight unseen but they're for sale in his neck of the woods. What's the opposite of GAS?

By the way, those "wide range" pickups are not to be underestimated.

I had a 70's tele deluxe... absolutely hated those wide range pickups. they sounded like a cocked wha no matter how you tried to set it up.

looked cool... sounded horrible. CUNIFE? no thank you, not for me.

Horses for courses.

I always feel that way about mini-humbuckers: I WANT to like them -- and I've tried -- but they're just too bright.

For me.

I like your fiddle OP; enjoy! The pup selector switch is certainly in the correct location!!

I'll see your LP Tele with the ash body and the maple 'board and I'll raise you a Tele with a fully bound 'hog body and Ebony board. ;)

My favourite Les Paul is my Les Paul, but I put this together as a "Keef" tribute.
Bridge pup is a Duncan Antiquity, neck is a Mr Fabulous "Supernatural" Peter Green inspired pickup.
I can't say enough good things about Mr Fabulous pickups (no affiliation), I have them in my LP too

By the way, the aforementioned friend, failing to GAS properly for a Tele Custom, actually had his humbucker-equipped Telecaster stolen from his son's car in Ontario, Canada a couple of years ago: bound sunburst body, Gibson humbucker on the neck, original Fender parts otherwise, original case, serial number 636083.

I've got only one poor photograph.

There is a generous reward, no questions asked.

I think so too: CUNIFE magnets.
There's nothing about CuNiFe magnets that gives a cocked wah sound.
Mine is fat and tasty.
I'll see if I can post a clip sometime.
I got it right at the beginning of the pandemic, so I don't have any live recordings of it.
