• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Why no lespauls?

I think Gibson is still selling the Les Paul Jr Tribute DC Bass, they may be leftover from 2019. I agree, the Les Paul bass is my favorite bass. This photo represents some of the Les Paul basses Gibson has produced over the last 50 years.......

My old beast. It's a '92, I don't know exactly what model it is, it's most like an LP Special, with the slab body, no active electronics, 2 vol / master tone.
But it does have the fancier inlay on the headstock. I call it The Ox - not long after I got it, John Entwistle died, so...

Somewhere I think I have a page from one magazine or another from the early 90's with Aerosmith showing their Les Pauls, including Tom with an LP Bass.
But to answer the main question, they don't make them because they don't sell well. Gibson has the following of the Thunderbird, and a smaller niche following of the EB3 - the SG style, but the LP never caught on.
