Indeed. I saw Cream in '68 at Olympia in Detroit (where the Redwings used to play). They had aisles of folding chairs sitting on top of sheets of plywood on the ice. We didn't like our seats so when the show started, we walked up to the first row and sat down on the plywood in the aisle. Nobody stopped us. Just before they eventually took the stage, some asshole jumped the stage and stole Clapton's wah wah. "Welcome to Detroit!"Hendrix was one of the highest paid acts of that time period and he's playing in front of that crowd with no security and no barriers. It is pretty wild the differences between then and now as it pertains to security.
Yes, I believe she was enjoying the full treatment just as Voodoo Chile was being played. Great timing! That's an astounding image quality. The restoration work is top notch.
Equally as top notch as the drugs the sitting lady in the red dress is enjoying at the 4:00 minute mark.
Yeah..I was a little curious about the audio source. With the exception of the drums, it does seem to sync up most of the time. Clearly the drums are not synced up well at many points throughout the video. I presume recording live drums outdoors was challenging for engineers back in that time. Who knows? Anything is possible nowadays. Regardless, the video quality is some of the best I have ever seen of Jimi Hendrix. The show's promoters and/or producers clearly wanted top notch filming of this very unique performance.Audio clearly from another event than the footage, or its heavily edited. Hendrix was and is a unique phenomenon though.
