• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

bumping an old thread, but since I started it, why not.

I notice rumble seat has a 59 with a stinger. says it's well documented guitar but I can't see the serial so I have no way to find the documentation. since im not buying a $450k guitar im not going to bother them. so who can point me in the right direction to find out about this guitar and the story behind it's stinger?

It doesn't have a s/n.

Stingers were USUALLY done to cover up some slight imperfection in the wood not for decoration from what I understand on Les Pauls anyway.

How does the lack of serial number effect the provenance of this guitar. I assume it’s only one piece of the puzzle but does it take it out of that top tier of bursts?
