• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I don't think I've ever posted this here and thought you all might enjoy it. I got this a little over a year ago and really love the way it plays and sounds. It's become my one-and-only Strat and I'm perfectly happy with it being that way.

I actually quite enjoy the 3-way switch as I've grown accustomed over the years to only using the neck and middle on most Strats, but I can still get the in-between settings if I want to get quacky. The biggest surprise for me tone-wise when I first got it was the bridge pickup. Maybe it's just a little darker than most Strats that I've had, but I've found it to be more usable in that regard.

The pickups are gray backed with June 1965 handwritten dates on them. The neck stamp is April 1965 and the pots date to right around that same time (14th week) as well.

It was clearly played quite a bit as evidenced not only by the fretwear, but the overall wear as well, but nothing over the top, IMO. Not sure what the story is on the tape. I briefly entertained the idea of pulling it off, but was afraid that it might be holding it together. ;)

Here are some pics that I've taken of it over the past year. Enjoy!

Very nice!! Does yours have the underguard?

Mine's a september '64 D-neck also with the transition logo. I've had it since '99 and did 100's of gigs with it, fabulous guitar!

That looks killer!

Yeah, mine has the metal under the guard. I caught my hand on it the other day. 🥺

Thanks the perfect cure for my GAS, mine has lost the underguard somewhere along the line and I was thinking of finding one, but knowing it'll cut you like butter, I think I'll let it go :)
