• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

A killer modded 1956 Les Paul Special that belonged to Austin legend Joe Eddy Hines. I scored this beauty at South Austin Music recently. Very happy with it. Obviously it has had multiple tail pieces and bridges throughout its 64 years. Joe Eddy played with Alejandro Escovedo and was a regular at Antone’s. PS: I love the new forum look. Nice upgrade 👍

Beautiful pictures of a killer guitar - congrats! There‘s a 55’ for sale locally here, these pictures do not exactly make me GAS less...

If I was to ever go all in on an old special or junior.. that would be it! Healthily abused, heavily used and lovingly recycled plus you get to know where it's been.

Another great guitar comes home to Mississippi! It’s beautiful.

No doubt about it, my next Gibson will be a “mutt.” Great find!

I don't know if you are on the fence or not...regarding the Bigsby....but I think the guitar looks quite unique with the non-stock roller bridge and Bigsby. And I'll bet it plays and sounds very good. FWIW, I wouldn't touch a thing if it was my guitar.

ya the really played ones are the best! i got my bar tanned 57 special at a musicians swap meet from a pretty much retired dealer ive known since the early nineties, 7k was a great deal. has the cali girl case.
as i was walking away an old guy 2 tables over said 'you will love that guitar,it was my guitar. i played gigs with it for decades' i said 'thats awesome thanks man'
it gave the guitar so much more meaning to me knowing where it had come from. and it came with good vibes! its what makes some old guitars really special.
its ironic that its a les paul SPECIAL lol
